Want to Be Skinny Like Gwyneth Paltrow? Prepare to Torture Yourself.

She cooks, makes guest appearances on hit television shows, raises her two children, flies from New York to LA to London on a regular basis, writes her Internet newsletter, sings at the Grammy Awards, stars in films ...

... and manages to stay super-duper skinny the whole time.

Lucky for us, Gwyneth has opted to share her diet and workout regime with the masses.

She's partnered with her personal trainer Tracy Anderson and released a set of workout DVDs and a book detailing Gwynnie's diet and exercise plan.

Now, one woman has tried it and written about the experience. And you won't BELIEVE what she revealed ...

Basically, if Gwyneth's diet and exercise regime is what it takes to be rail thin ...

I'D RATHER BE FAT.

Rebecca Wilcox tried Tracy Anderson's 30-Day Method and wrote about it for the Daily Mail. While she did lose the weight, she also nearly blacked out in the middle of the street while on the diet!

According to Wilcox, the plan involves up to THREE HOURS OF EXERCISES PER DAY, Pilates-style exercises that she said were "mind-numbingly boring."

And that's not even the worst of it! According to Wilcox, the first week of the diet plan calls for an almost entirely pureed diet. The "shakes" Wilcox got to eat ranged from a mixture of kale, spinach, beetroot, and apple (which she says she vomited back up on more than one occasion) to a carrot and parsnip puree.

NASTY.

After the first week, it didn't get much better. Wilcox wrote that meals were small (lunch is merely a protein bar) and she always felt like she was starving. She even began going to bed early in order to curb her hunger pangs.

The results? Here's what she had to say:

I feel woozy and find it difficult to concentrate. At first I had loads of energy but now I'm always tired and am told I'm horribly grouchy to boot.

My skin is terrible and my nails are flaking and weak. And -- how can I put this -- my system has become, shall we say, somewhat sluggish. Normally I'm as regular as clockwork. Not any more.

Wilcox took her diet plan to a dietitian at a London hospital and learned she had only been consuming 700 calories per day! The dietitian was disturbed both by Wilcox's low calorie consumption and by her diet's lack of calcium and protein.

Sounds like Gwyneth and Tracy should call it the 30-Day Torture Method, don't you think?

Hell the fuck no. I would be fat and eat my steak than do this. And just to point out, she is NOT raising her kids if she is exercising three hours a day.

Sounds awful. Just eat REAL, whole food, nothing processed, no refined sugars of any kind... and you won't even need to count calories. Eat all the real food you want, never be hungry and watch the number on your scale decrease. (Worked for me) Screw that starving crap.

I enjoy having boobs and ass. Thanks. And that's probably why Gwyneth comes off as a bword. Her diet leaves her brain struggling with keeping up with normal bodily functions much less be nice.

Gwyneth Paltrow is no doubt talented and gorgeous but she has always come across a bit pretentious to me. Anyone remember the cupping incident when she showed up at an awards show and had "forgotten" she still had the marks on her back?

Wow, I think this extreme diet thing you would have to work up to rather than jump into. I see how it works for her and that's great. it wouldn't be realistic for me however, nor most moms. It isn't necessary to have such a restrictive and bizzarre diet to get to a healthy weight. I just don't accept that as reality, but I sure could cut down a lot on my calories and make better choices foodwise. Even possibly gradually reducng my intake down to something close to what she eats (but different stuff - not so wierd)


 I disagree with billsfan however that you can't raise your kids and exercise 3 hrs a day. I can't fit it into my schedule because I currently work 10 hrs  day (which I feel does interfere with raising my kid the way I'd like) I also wouldn't want to do mind-numbingly boring pilates (good that someone else feels like me about them - BORING is definitely the problem with the gym) But to do some beneficial physical activity for at least 3 hrs a day should be able to fit in with motherhood.For me that means either doing said activity with my kids, or as part of my job (because after work I want to be with my kid and my husband- we usually watch TV which is not good, but we're tired)

I'm sure she has someone at her disposal to do all those food preparations for her and I'd have a killer bod too if I had a personal trainer, both of which we were mortals don't have. Who has to the time to spend 3 hours exercising when there are so many other things to be done in and around the house and work?! Sure, I can emphatise with the whole Hollywood working mum thing but there are other working mothers there who shut their trap and don't rub it into the rest of the world their fab bod and diet routine, both of which are nearly impossible without some form of help. She is getting really annoying and really overrated and I miss those days when she used to shy away from the press.

Bleck. I'd rather look like Jennifer Hudson these days anyway. I'll stick with (the much more healthy) Weight Watchers.

UMMM...  Green smoothies are good and healthy.  She's just being a whiney puss about it.  LOL!  Seriously.  Kale, not so tastey but when you mix it with flavorful fruits (coconut, mango, etc.) then you have yourself a delicious and healthy smoothie.
