Amanda Seyfried, the 25-year-old star of Red Riding Hood, needs botox. Her face isn't perfect enough and I'll be darned if I don't see some emerging crows-feet and laugh lines. It's distracting on the HD screen and it's time she did something about it.
That's what her Hollywood handlers think anyway. In the April issue of Elle, Seyfried admits she's been told she needed botox and fillers to smooth out her face. Is this too young to start with the injections, or right on time?
They say the sooner you start with botox the better because it will prevent more wrinkles from developing and you'll need fewer injections as you age. While that's true and possibly the only argument for botox that makes sense, I don't think it's appropriate for someone Amanda's age. Thankfully, she agrees. When asked to get the fillers, she responded:
I was like, 'Damn you!' But we’re in Hollywood. I’m on a huge screen. With these new digital cameras, you can see the peach fuzz on my face.
She goes on to say that she likes the freedom of just being herself, and sometimes that can get her into trouble. If trouble is not messing with her beautiful, fresh face, then I say, stay strong and stay insubordinate. But Amanda does need botox -- she needs it in a needle to stab the aging men who are telling her to mess with her natural beauty.
Perhaps Amanda saw some recent photos of Lindsay Lohan and decided against freezing her face so young. Lohan, along with Heidi Montag and Megan Fox, are all under 26-years-old yet their plastic faces make them look 36. The lip fillers, the paralyzed foreheads, and the under-eye injections don't make them look youthful, or even their age, but catapults them into cougardom. They look so "done" -- not a good thing when you're so young.
If the actresses stayed away from partying, smoking, drinking, and staying up all night, maybe they wouldn't need these quick fixes to perk up their pretty little faces. Amanda is right to just say no to botox at her age and to stay focused on leading a healthy life. I hope more stars follow her example lest all our movies are filled with numb and congealed actresses who can't express emotion. I mean, have you seen a Nicole Kidman movie recently?
Do you think it's crazy she was asked to get botox, or no, that's just Hollywood for ya!
