Jennifer Aniston took a few inches off her signature locks, and around the world, CHAOS ENSUED*.
Her decision resulted in global unrest, as Supercuts and Great Clips locations worldwide were reportedly mobbed by hordes of angry women wielding scissors.
And in LA, hairstylist Jose Eber is said to have gone into hiding after a mob broke down his front door with cries of, "Bring back The Rachel!"
Meanwhile, chants of "JENNIFER GOT A BOB!" could be heard from unruly crowds in far-flung locales ranging from Bangkok to New Zealand to Peoria.
And now, Aniston's hairstylist has revealed to Allure magazine the shocking story behind her decision.
*Totally fictitious chaos, obvs.
In an Allure exclusive, hairstylist Chris McMillan admits that Aniston's signature look had been appropriated by a group with whom she understandably doesn't want to be associated. He says:
There are so many long, layered hairstyles and—don't get me wrong, I love that. But The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills all have that. You know what I mean? And what's the opposite direction you can go in?
A bob, of course! Or as he calls it, a hairline bob, which is shorter in the back and longer in the front.
McMillan talks about the cut to Allure like it's some new, modern style, but frankly this bob has been around for years. It's nothing you won't see in any shopping mall in America.
But what do we care?
Jennifer has taken it all off! Let the rioting outside the Vidal Sassoons of the world continue!
What do you think of this shocking news from the Aniston camp?

The whole Middle East may explode any minute now....but, but, but Jennifer and Justin both got a trim! Alert the masses!!!
(You know I'm not criticizing YOU, Lindsay, right? Just agreeing with the inanity of the whole thing. SHEESH!)
Her "hairline" bob is basically the same as the A-line bob (shorter in back, longer in front) that everyone was sporting a few years ago. Big whoop. I think her hair has been boring for the past 10 years and think it's equally boring now. The "Rachel" cut was huge, but ever since then her hair has been "blah" in my opinion. There are plenty of other celebs with prettier, more interesting hairstyles.
Yawn. I'll wait to get excited for when she gets a buzz cut.
Yawning here, too. It's a little longer and a little more flowy than the Pob (Posh Bob). She looks fine. She should, given how much she probably spends on her appearance.
PS...anyone else think she looks like Barbra Streisand now?
Eh nothing really new has come up in the past few years. (I had that haircut a few years back....) Unless we channel Marie Antoinette hairspiration, I don't see anything that shocking for hair in the near future.
