It's not enough to simply send models down the catwalk anymore during New York Fashion Week. This time around, designers used everything from flash mobs to ice skaters to rappelling to draw attention to their fall 2011 lines.

Moncler abandoned the runway altogether, opting instead to create a flash mob of luxe skiwear-wearing models in New York's Grand Central Station. The high-energy show drew hundreds of onlookers and I loved this idea. It was nice seeing the designs get put through their paces on the dancers.
Band of Outsiders took it to eleven by having its models rappell to the catwalk from the ceiling. AWESOME.
And designer Elise Overland put her models on the ice skating rink, along with Olympic skater Johnny Weir. So cool.
As many of you know, I don't typically cover Fashion Week here on She's Still Got It-- Let the department store buyers worry about what's hot for next fall. We're going to keep the focus on our immediate future: SPRING and SUMMER.
However, these shows definitely got my attention!
What about yours?
