Gwyneth Paltrow Death Defying Grammy Performance

Last night's Grammys was full of fashion triumphs and failures, and actress-turned-singer Gwyneth Paltrow fell somewhere in between with her daring '80s-inspired ensemble, but surprisingly, did not fall to her death from Cee Lo's bedazzled grand piano.

Her duet with Cee Lo Green for the song alternately titled "Forget You" had a few "What the Forget?" moments, from the dancing muppets to Cee Lo's feather-adorned armor, but it was Gwyneth's color-block Christian Louboutin stilettos that had me scratching my head.

Only because she could barely stand in them. Perhaps Gwyneth should stick to flats this early in her singing career?

Gwyneth was so obviously afraid of falling that she was stiff as a board as she teetered around the stage, and I thought for sure she was going to fall and break her neck after she slid onto Cee Lo's piano, then tried to stand up again. Each moment was gripping.

Surprisingly, it all worked out in the end, and Gwyneth's live performance was better than those of singers who do this and only this for a living. I tend to get annoyed when actors decide they're musicians. But the annoying part here is Gwyneth can actually sing. And is clearly having a blast doing it, so good for her!

As for the rest of her outfit, she managed to pull off a black, low-cut unitard that wouldn't look half as good on Katy Perry and hot pink feather earrings. Any more color would have been overkill, but the earrings were the perfect solo accessory. She was like a Jim Henson superhero, which sounds horrible, but works on Gwyneth. I have a feeling this is not the last we'll see of the unitard.

Forget you, Gwyneth! How are you so perfect?!

What did you think of Gwyneth's out-there look?
