Who can forget 'The Rachel'?
Jennifer Aniston popularized the hairstyle during the first two seasons of Friends, and soon thousands of women were flocking to their salons, clamoring for the look.
The Rachel was so popular, in fact, that variations of it can still be seen today. It had a major impact on women's hairstyles in general, and I'm pretty sure the layered look pioneered by The Rachel is here to stay.
But a shocking new fact about The Rachel is revealed in the February issue of Allure:
Jennifer Aniston admits in an interview that she HATED The Rachel. In fact, she says, "How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I've ever seen. What I really want to know is, how did that thing have legs?"
Want to know who was responsible for the look? Read on!
The cut was created by hairstylist Chris McMillan, who, perhaps surprisingly, is still Aniston's hairstylist today!
Whether Aniston likes his work or not, he sure does know what other people will think looks good on her. She's known for having some of the best hair in Hollywood!
Obviously, Jennifer has gotten over McMillan's Rachel shag, but she still has bad hair memories of that moment in time. "Let's just say I'm not a fan of short, layered cuts on me personally," she told Allure, "so I don't love revisiting that particular era."
What about you, ladies? Raise your hand if you got The Rachel cut back in the '90s?
Now raise your hand if you've still got it.
Do you look back and cringe at The Rachel or do you still have fond memories of the look? I'm thinking it was certainly better than this ...
