Carrie Fisher is joining Jenny Craig as its newest celebrity spokeswoman.
Get paid big bucks to lose weight and show off your svelte new body in TV commercials? I wish someone would pay me to do that!
"I'm fat," said 54-year-old Fisher. "All the clothes in my closet belong to another chick. They have to make a new alphabet for my bra size."
Since joining Jenny Craig in November and exercising five days a week, though, she's already lost 12 pounds.

My parents swear by Jenny Craig, but since I like to cook, prepackaged meals aren't the best diet solution for me.
I have found a way to take off extra pounds fairly quickly, easily, and healthily, though.

I actually have two diets of choice -- I alternate between them to keep from getting bored.
They are ... *drumroll*
The Atkins Diet and the South Beach Diet!
I LOVE both of these diets. When I follow them correctly, the weight just falls off, the food is good, and I'm never hungry. Both diets have plenty of foods and recipes that I adore, which makes it much easier to cut out the sugar and carbs for a few weeks.
I've been doing one or the other of these diets for two weeks every 3-4 months over the last year and have lost and kept off 20 pounds that way!
What's also great about these diets is that it's fairly easy to find something on the menu that I can eat when I go to a restaurant. Last night, for example (I'm doing a round of South Beach now, post-Christmas), Hubs and I went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and I had a Cobb salad and a bowl of AMAZING chicken tortilla soup (I skipped the fried tortilla strips -- the rest was South Beach-approved). Both were items I would have enjoyed whether I was dieting or not.
On Atkins, I can actually go to McDonald's (or any other fast food restaurant), order two McDoubles with cheese, remove the buns, and eat the burger and cheese -- and I STILL lose weight! AWESOME.
The diet I want to try next is Weight Watchers, since it seems to be getting all the buzz now and you can do it online. Several of my friends have had great success with this one.
I have been so happy to find diets that not only feel healthy and have me eating plenty of non-processed foods and vegetables, but also let me eat as much as I want of certain foods, because as a mom, I simply can't run around starving all day.
