Consumer Reports' ShopSmart Magazine tested more than 3,000 products in 2010 and recently released a list of 54 favorites, as well as 22 least-favorites!
The list included a Beauty, Fashion and Fitness section and now that I've read about these products, I can't wait to try some of them.
One rave went to Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Serum, which retails at $20 for one ounce. ShopSmart found that it worked nearly as well among test subjects as top-rated Dermasilk serum, which costs twice as much!

ShopSmart staffers also loved Levi & Strauss Co. Perfectly Slimming Jeans 512 (Macy's, $44.50), which they said were flattering and kept their promise of slimming the tummy area. At less than half the price of MiracleBody Jeans and Not Your Daughter's Jeans, which do the same thing, I'm pretty psyched about this discovery!
Oral-B Triumph Professional Care 9400 (Amazon, $125.99) is totally worth the price, according to ShopSmart (and according to me and everyone else I know who has one, as well!) It has three different cleaning modes, a sensor to keep you from brushing too hard, and it even pulses every 30 seconds to let you know when to brush a different quadrant of your mouth. I love mine LOTS.
This ASICS Gel-Tech Walker Neo (Footlocker.com, $79.99 on sale) was the favorite fitness shoe of ShopSmart staffers, who gave it top marks for fit, breathability and stability.
As for the loser list, ShopSmart testers hated Burt's Bees Naturally Ageless Intensive Repairing Serum (Drugstore.com, $25.99), which is actually more than twice the price per ounce of the top-rated Neutrogena version!
Also on the loser list, an as-seen-on-tv product I've wondered about, Mister Steamy (MisterSteamy.com, $19.99). ShopSmart reports that after using Mister Steamy, you'll still need Mister Iron. Heh.
You can see the full ShopSmart list of winners and losers here- Check it out. It's a great read!
