Sure, we're all running around in our leggings and cardigans -- but keep an eye on Hollywood's trendsetters.
Right now, they're wearing what's sure to be hot NEXT fall and winter, and Leighton Meester is a perfect example.
She's just one example of celebs from Halle Berry to Jessica Alba who've shown up at events lately in menswear-inspired suits.
(And as an aside, check out Leighton's pants in particular. This is THE length for next fall, and I've already found a pair in this length on sale at J.Crew -- additional 30% off if you order by today!)
Okay, where were we? SUITS.
It's a hot look now, but a sharp jacket and matching pants always make a good investment. You can wear them together and be oh-so-trendy, or wear them separately as classic pieces that go with anything.

Love. It. This is a look that women with lots of different styles and body types could pull off. Best of all, it's pretty affordable as well.
I could give you lots of different suit options, but I have a particular one in mind that I know you'll love ...
My black blazer was from LOFT and is almost identical to this Scuba Jacket with Ruffle Hem (LOFT, $128). If you order by today, you can get this jacket at 40% off with the code HOLIDAY.
(P.S. If you can wear a size 10 tall, you can get the same amazing black jacket I have for just $23.99 today only at LOFT! It was originally $128!)
Pair your blazer with these scuba lean trousers (LOFT, $79.50) and you've got an ahead-of-the-trend suit, just like the stars! You can always have these pants hemmed to a slightly cropped length if you want to be hyper-trendy. And remember -- 40% off these pants today only with the code HOLIDAY.
What do you think of this look?

I think a blank pants "suit" is a staple of any woman's wardrobe. but I like things to jazz it up and give it some femininity. Leighton Meester's look is too andgrogenous (sp?) and stark for my taste.
I like it. If that is the length the pants will be I may not have to shorten them to fit.
I won't be going with this trend. I think I look best in much more feminine clothes.
Love it! I'm proud to say I pulled out the skinny tie I've been keeping in my sock drawer since I last wore it regularly in the 1980s and I've been wearing it all fall! Leggings, sadly, make my short fat legs looks like sausages! The tie is slimming.
Pictures, Kathy! PICTURES!
I think the new pants are going to be really cute. They're still slim fitting, but less stretchy, more tailored. and the cropped leg is a really cool twist on what would otherwise be sort of boring.
I did this look before children, i think i can pull it off again and least to say hubby loved it!
I like the look. Not sure where I would wear it, but it's cute.
