Lara Flynn Boyle: What Happened?!

Beauty & Style 12

Lara Flynn BoyleYou may remember Lara Flynn Boyle from her starring role in Twin Peaks.

Back then, she was absolutely gorgeous, and she seemed destined to be a big star one day.

Afterward, she made a name for herself on television series The Practice, and as Jack Nicholson's longtime girlfriend, but that was all a long time ago.

She hasn't seemed to have done a whole lot lately, and maybe when you see her you'll understand why ...

Whoa. This photo should be captioned "When plastic surgery attacks."

She's not hideous or anything, but she's also not the Lara Flynn Boyle we all remember.

I'm pleased to see that she no longer seems to be struggling with weight issues, and her plastic surgery seems to have actually improved since a few years ago, but I fail to understand why so many Hollywood actresses are messing with their faces at all.

Lara Flynn Boyle in particular could have saved herself a lot of heartache and money by simply getting really good facials and taking care of her skin- I mean, the woman just turned 40!

I don't really understand why women in their 20s and 30s are messing with their faces at all- I'm 35 and have yet to see any really noticeable lines. I can't imagine getting plastic surgery or injections any time soon.

What do you think of the plastic surgery/injection trend? Would you do it? And if so, at what age do you think it's appropriate?

What a shame. She was beautiful before.

Oh, that's terrible!  She was sooooo sexy in The Practice.  Now she just has that weird fake face look.  A shame.

I just turned 40, and have been taking meticulous care of my skin since my early 20's - I worked for a dermatologist, and he took one of those pictures that show sun damage on your face - I was HORRIFIED!!!!  I've never tanned since - I use sunscreen and good-quality make-up and skin care, exfoliate often and drink plenty of water.  Not a wrinkle, laugh line, or sag to be seen - yet - but honestly, I don't think I'd ever risk injections or surgery in the name of hiding my age.  I don't see the point in trying to look 20 when I'm 60.

Unless I have some horrible, face-altering accident... there will be no plastic surgery for me.

And they're not wrinkles.  They're laugh lines.  Or age rings.  You earn them.  Like a tree.

It is sad, and ironic for sure, that they get plastic surgery to look better and simply end up looking worse.  All that pain and money is wasted.  They should take a lesson from Lauren Hutton and just embrace the wrinkles naturally.

A friend just had something done to her face, nose in particular. She looks awful! Her nose looks like a cartoon character. Her skin on her face is flawless, but her neck and hands are seriously sun damaged. So, umm, she doesn't match.
I don't think I'd ever have surgery. Peel MAYBE in 15-20 years. But nothing radical.

What baffled me is with all the money they have, they couldn't find a GOOD plastic surgeon? Look at Demi Moore, she had tons of jobs done, but she still looks natural and pretty.

Not interested in plastic surgery. I can't believe how many people are out there that think they look better after.
