Y'all. I say this with great love for you all and true compassion in my heart for your fashion choices.
But I am not believing how many of you grown women admitted yesterday (WITH PRIDE!) that YOU WEAR HATS WITH EARS. I think Tim Gunn would agree with me when I say, That just ain't right. But you're all so fabulous that I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.
The Stir reader Julie did have one request in the comments of that post:
I'd love to see your recommendations for winter hats ... I always like to wear something a bit funky myself. I live in NY so winter can be depressing enough as it is, I think fun winter hats make it just a bit less humdrum.
Julie, I think I can help!
First, let's take a look at Taylor Swift. The girl loves winter hats, and she wears them well. You really can't go wrong with a red knit beanie and as I've proven already, they are very versatile!

Cloche hats are huge this season and it's easy to find an affordable one, like this version by Catarzi (ASOS, $37.93).
I'm also loving this Cloche Hat in gray (Urban Outfitters, $34).
I'm dying a little bit over this Gem-Laden Knit Hat (J.Crew, $72). Hip and pretty.
Anthropologie has some amazing winter hats, like this Pretty as a Present Cabbie (Anthropologie, $58).
And check out this fantastic At Your Service Cap (Anthropologie, $38). I can see a lot of my mom friends in this one.
Not funky enough for you? This Kate Spade Ski Cap (Kate Spade, $75) is about as far as I'd go. I have to admit, this would look pretty festive during the holidays ...
And of course, there's the Taylor Swift-endorsed beanie. This Cassady Beanie (Delias, $14.50) is a great price and comes in several different colors. Choose a bright one to liven up dull winter days.
What do you think of these hats? Are you on this side of the fence? Or do you prefer ears and animals?
