Regular readers here know I loves me some Forever 21. Sure much of its clothing seems made for teenagers whose mammas don't care enough to tell them they look like skanks ...
However, online at least, the website is loaded with inexpensive clothes and accessories that fit every imaginable trend of the moment -- including those that can be worn by women in their 30s, 40s, and beyond.
In fact, I recently ordered a few things from Forever 21. Check out my favorite pieces (with photos of me in them), which I think could work for many of you -- and see what I'm returning -- after the jump.
My favorite piece by far (I've worn it twice already and just got it last week) is this tie-waist jersey cardigan (Forever 21, $19.80), which comes in plum and black. You can tie it around your waist for a very pretty belted look, but I like wearing it open and loosely tied in back. Worn with a tunic, leggings, or skinny jeans and boots, it looks AMAZING and costs about a fifth of what you'd pay for it elsewhere.
I also rely on Forever 21 for tops that cost the same amount as t-shirts, but look a little ... nicer. This Empire Cowl-Neck Tunic (Forever 21, $11.50) fits the bill so perfectly that I'll probably order it in a few more colors. It's a fantastic top to wear around the house, but it's also nice enough to wear out either alone or under a cardigan. It's fairly sheer, so you'll need to wear a cami underneath it, but its sheerness makes it even cuter, in my opinion.
I got these slouchy ankle booties (Forever 21, $30.80) as an everyday alternative to my amazing Pour La Victoire pair. I love that they have a low heel, but since it's stiletto, it looks higher than it is. They run small, so order a half size up if you like them.
What's going back? This horrid cowl neck tunic, which bizarrely has elastic sewn on the outside of the cowl neck, so that unless you have it positioned just so, the plastic elastic totally shows.
One note if you're planning on ordering Forever 21: It might be wise to order a size up. I typically wear a medium, but I always order a large from Forever 21, and it almost always works out.
