A Real Life Way to Rock a Hot Runway Hair Trend

Donna KaranFashionistas have been going crazy for a hair trend inspired by Donna Karan's Fall 2010 runway show and ad campaign: the wide black headband.

In this season's incarnation, it's meant to be worn with an updo, but frankly, Donna Karan's slicked-back version is a little too scary for me to contemplate trying out on my next run to the supermarket.

However, one Hollywood celeb has been seen out and about several times in this look- and she's actually making me want to dig my own black headband out of the back of my accessories drawer.

Click on to see which celeb has found a pretty, real-life way to wear this hot fall hair trend....

Jessica Alba
It's Jessica Alba, of course, the master (mistress?) of accessorizing! J-Alb loves this look, whether she chooses a narrow band for special occasions, like this one, or a wider cloth band when she's out on the town with her daughter, Honor.

A key to making this look work in real life is to let some hair peep out in front- Starting the band at your forehead is just too stark for most women.

The best thing about this look? It's fantastically cheap!

Now nothing can hold you back!

What do you think of the wide black band for fall?
