I found myself taking a second- and third- and fourth look recently at a multi-page Rebecca Moses ad campaign in one of the September books.
The designer, with clothing that's sold in Macy's, Dillard, and Neiman Marcus among other locations, features lovely fashions that translate very well to real life...
and when you put all the photos together, you end up with a sort of primer on how to wear some of the hottest trends of the season.
Check out this LBD to the left, for example- a wardrobe staple in most women's closets.
This season, wear yours with graduated glam necklaces, an updo and black platform heels and you'll be totally on-trend.
Read on to see more fabulous real-life ways to wear some of fall's best looks.
Yesterday, I told you that gold is one of the hottest colors of the season- Now check out this gorgeous gold suit, worn with a pretty purple shell and a neutral shoe. Totally glam. Love it.
Faux fur vests are everywhere this season- I'm not personally a fan, but if anyone makes them look good, it's Rebecca Moses. Worn with gloves, it transforms a printed dress from stuffy to stylish.
And don't forget that all black is more than a classic look this season- It's a major trend! No need to break it up with other colors this year. Pair your black suit with black heels and a black bag and you're good to go... to a funeral or anywhere else!
I'll be writing a post soon about purple- Along with emerald green, it's a major jewel tone color for fall. I love how it's paired with a leopard print skirt (another hot trend) and gloves in this photo. HAWT, y'all! For the more daring out there, leggings are the thing this season- just wear them with a loose-fitting flowy top or cozy cardigan to keep the look from getting trashy.
Here's another example of the leggings and loose top look. I particularly like it with boots, whether you wear an ankle version like the ones pictured here or scrunchy long boots. They both are fantastic with leggings.
And in real life, I'd opt for a longer tunic or sweater that covers your bum. Remember, ladies. LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS.
So the next time you're trying to decide what to wear, think to yourself, "What would Rebecca Moses do?" You'll be good to go!
