Ladies, stop trying to break your neck in those sexy stilettos. Most men can't even tell if you're wearing high heels anyway.
I know. I found it hard to believe men cannot see such a thing as four-inch stacked heels also. But then again, most of them also can't see dirt, your new $100 haircut, birthdays and anniversaries on the calendar, or the defrosted chicken that needs to be started for dinner and is sitting right ... in ... the ... front ... of ... the ... fridge ... So there you go.
Anyway, let's talk about this study that is not, strangely enough, about selective male blindness.
Experts at Northumbria University have been studying men and their reactions to women walking with and without high heel shoes. According to the Daily Telegraph, the study reveals that men cannot tell if a woman who is walking is wearing heels or not.
The study, headed up by psychologist Dr. Nick Neave and researcher Kristofor McCarty, assessed several women between the ages of 18 and 35 and took a look at the signals they sent out while walking in heels and also without heels. The researchers are trying to figure out if men are impacted by the illusion of longer legs, tilting torso and more prominent rear.
Looks like not so much.
Ultimately, in this study and many others, the researchers are hoping to learn a little more about the laws of attraction.
"Everybody is attracted to somebody else and making relationships is very important to humans," says Dr. Neave. "Making key relationships and having children are some of the most important decisions people will make. But scientifically we know very little about this."
High heels don't seem to be bringing on the love signals after all. Oh well, your feet will sure be happy to hear about this one.
What do you think? Are you done wearing heels to impress your man? Or do you wear heels for another reason?
