Splash NewsWe have all agreed more than once on this blog that every woman really should own at least one pair of red heels.

And more than a few of you have agreed to at least try wearing red lipstick.

Now check out Kate Bosworth's hip new take on the trends.

Just about everyone has a neutral or gray (the "new neutral") dress in the closet.

Why not spice it up with your red lipstick and red heels?

Instantly, you're a trendsetter!

If you don't already own this look, read on for a few ideas on what to buy- and see the red shoes I've chosen for my own closet this season!

Nordstrom

After seeing this Jessica Simpson Evoni Platform Sandal (Nordstrom, $89.95) in two different magazines (in one, they were paired with an LBD, in one they were worn with rolled-up jeans and a black blazer), I came across them last week in a department store and decided we were meant to be together. This is definitely my top red shoe pick right now!

White House Black MarketThis is not a great shot of the shoe, but this Red Pieced Suede Heel (White House, $108) is a close second. I LOVE these shoes in person!

I'm not even going to advise a red lipstick, because you need to find a good shade of red for your particular skin tone. I would advise you to go to your favorite makeup counter and ask for help. You definitely don't want to get the wrong shade of red for your face- It's a very noticeable look!

Ann TaylorNeed a dress to go with all your red? I'm lusting after this Stretch Cotton Shirred Shirtdress (Ann Taylor, $148).

LOFTBut frankly, I'm even more excited to try the red lips and shoes with a gray dress this fall. Imagine taking this cowl neck sweater dress (LOFT, $89.50) from day to night by simply adding lipstick and changing out your shoes.

What do you think of Kate Bosworth's look? Is it too bold for you, or would you try it?
