Lady Gaga

Can you see Lady Gaga in these photos? Yep, everyone's in agreement that she is indeed dressed in drag as Jo Calderone, featured on the September cover of Vogue Hommes Japan. Though no one from Vogue has officially come out and said it's the iconic singer, it's definitely her.

These covers were shot by Gaga's favorite photographer Nick Knight, and stylist Nicola Formichetti posted the end result on his blog as well as an excerpt from the interview with Jo.

Of course, Gaga's taking her alter ego very seriously. Want to know more about this Italian stud? Here are a couple of her, ahem, his answers to an interview for the magazine coming out on September 10.

Where are you from?
Palermo, Sicily.

How would you describe what you do/your occupation?
Mechanic for my dad's business. This is the first time I've had my picture taken.

When did you discover you wanted to do this?
Well, I always helped my dad at work, since I was a kid. I thought it would be fun to have my picture taken.

What are your ambitions?
I'd love to own my own car shop, I have a bunch of my own ‘muscle’ cars. Maybe if I take some more pictures I can afford it.

And the best one?

What is your relationship to Lady Gaga?
I met her at a shoot Nick Knight was doing. She's fuckin beautiful, and funny, and interesting. I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting. She said, "Don't be baby, you were 'born this way.'" I took her out after. The rest is private ;)

Hmmm ... though Lady Gaga says she doesn't have casual sex, you have to wonder if that includes sex with her alter egos as well. I don't think I want to know.

I love Jo's thick, dark hair and grease-stained t-shirt showing off his guns on the first cover. Looks like he cleaned up a bit and may even be sporting a Bumpit on the cover on the right. The lighting is extremely dark, but to me Jo looks like a young Johnny Depp.

Think Gaga's trying to make a statement, aka poking fun at the hermaphrodite rumors and making a stance on blurring gender boundaries ... or is just "too cool to care"? Plus, her overexposure in the media may make these shock tactics a little less, well, shocking. Either way, it must be really fun to create an alter ego and then talk about how exciting it was to meet (and sleep with) yourself.

Think Lady Gaga makes a hot Italian man?
