Lace, lace, and more lace! Judging by Emily Blunt's outfit on the September cover of Elle UK, I think we can officially say that lace is hot for fall, especially for legwear.
Anyone else find it difficult to wear lace tights without looking completely frumpy? It took me many (many) trial-and-errors to get the look just right. So since I love you ladies so much, I'll share the tips on wearing lace tights that I had to learn the hard way.
- Elongate: Patterns tend to visibily shorten legs, so pick a hemline that shows your legs off and wear heels to make them look longer.
- Make it the statement piece: Lace tights are busy, so make the tights the main focus. Pair it with simple, non-patterned pieces.
- Choose a pattern that suits your legs: I have thicker thighs thanks to years of playing soccer, and round prints tend to accentuate that, so I go with vertically long prints. If you tend to have super skinny legs, don't choose large prints -- they will swallow your legs whole.
A little bit of lace can go a long way and can turn an outfit from drab to fab just by adding texture and a kiss of femininity. I love that they can create such a wide variety of looks -- sexy, edgy, romantic, sleek. One pair can practically create a whole new wardrobe!
Are you a fan of lace tights? Will you be rocking them this fall?

I love them and had several pairs in varying prints and designs as a teenager. I would not feel comfortable wearing them now at 34; they just seem a little "young" for me...I'm pretty sure I'd feel silly in them :) But they're a great look for those who can pull it off!
Um, no.....I think those should stay in the bedroom...lol
