Well, ladies, they've finally done it.
Spanx, the dirty little secret employed by pretty much every woman I know, has expanded to include ...
Honestly, every time I write those words, I dissolve into uncontrollable giggles. And yet, I think plenty of men will be buying.
Here's why ...

Spanx "waisted" no time (sorry, couldn't resist) trying to convince men to slip on girdle-like undergarments.
Instead, Spanx designers went an entirely different route and created a shapewear men's tee.
Brilliant!
Now, according to Spanx, men can firm their chests, flatten their stomachs, improve their posture, and support their lower back simply by putting on what looks like an ordinary undershirt underneath their clothes.
What guy wouldn't benefit from Man Spanx?
Man Spanx comes in a few different designs, including a v-neck and this cotton compression tank (Spanx, $55). Yes, they're pricy -- but perhaps having a flatter tummy will be worth it for some dudes.
So, ladies, what do you think? Will Man Spanx fly or flop? Personally, I think they're a great idea ...
But they might want to change the name.

dude, you can see that guy's 6pack through the man-spanx. i'm pretty sure he isn't the right model for the job.
That's what you HOPE your man will look like after he puts on MAN SPANX! LOL
Haha I love how they get a guy who's RIPPED to model the spanx.
THAT'S WHAT MAN SPANX CAN DO FOR YOUR MAN. ;D
OMG - my husband so needs this and it is a t-shirt so no one would know. However, I think it would hurt his feelings if I suggested it or bought it!
No way my husband will ever wear one of these--comfort is number one with him. I don't think they'll have a big market for these, especially at $55.
I have a compression tank, and it's extremely uncomfortable. I have trouble breathing in it. And I bought it a size larger than I normally wear.
I'm laughing now imagining men having trouble breathing in their "compression tanks." LOLOLOLOL!
MaggieCC, send him an anonymous link! Hahahahaha. ;D
Men will never go for being uncomfortable in order to look good. It's a good idea though!
I have the t-shirt, and it works very well. It's tough to get on at first (it gets stuck at your armpits and has to be rolled on like you're unrolling a Fruit Roll-up), but once it's on, it's cool and comfortable.
I got mine from Neiman Marcus here in St. Louis because Nordstrom only had them available on their website. The salesman at Neiman actually said they sell out almost as soon as they get in a shipment, so yes, men WILL go for it. They have a black and white t-shirt in both crew and v-neck styles. I'm only 27, but my wife said it looked like I had dropped 15 or 20 pounds just by putting it on, and it has the added benefit of helping improve your posture.
I don't know if women's Spanx are the same, but with these, you can still breathe with no problem.
