Looking for an easy and inexpensive way to update your hairstyle? If you have medium to long hair, have I got an answer for you!
Esther Crawford of ShePosts.com was one of several stylish women (including BlogHer founder Lisa Stone) sporting these pretty, modern ringlets at BlogHer, and she achieved it using a product she got at a BlogHer weekend party! Wanna see how she did it and find out how to get the look yourself with an ordinary curling iron? Read on!
Remington showcased its Pearl Ceramic line at the Getting Gorgeous event and gave partygoers this Pearl Ceramic Curling Wand, which will be out on Ulta.com in September and available at Target in October. The products use real pearl for a smoother finish. When I saw Esther, I told her I had to take a photo of her hairstyle and she said she'd used the new curling wand to do it!
This curling wand is different from a traditional curling iron in that there's no clip for your hair. You simply use a glove that's included with the wand and wrap your hair around the barrel to get the ringlets. If you don't want to get a special wand to do it, you can use a simple curling iron for the same effect. Check out this video I made several months ago, showing you how to do it:
I went to a Unilever event during BlogHer weekend and the Suave stylist there (who has also done Madonna and Lady Gaga's hair!!) did my hair the same way in under 10 minutes. Check out the results:
This is my frenemy Lena, who was very jealous of my curls. She actually tried to strangle me right after this photo was taken.
Anyway, I absolutely love this idea for any of you who have hair that's shoulder-length or longer. It's an easy way to look feminine and pretty for a special event -- and it takes almost no time at all, particularly once you've done it a few times.
What do you think of this style?
