I spent this past week in New York City at the mother of all blog conferences: BlogHer.
And I have to admit I didn't go to a single conference session-- there were too many fashion and beauty events to attend (and too many great bloggers to meet, like Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, pictured at your left). (And be sure to read the hilarious post she wrote about the shoes she's wearing.)
I've got lots of really interesting fall 2010 sneak peeks for you. But let's start things off with some of the best dressed BlogHers I spied while I was there. Each of these women have something about their look that's worth copying.
I snapped a picture of Ree Drummond because she has her own signature style that works really well for her. Ree generally wears a flowy tunic top with slim-fitting pants, boho earrings, and a cute pair of shoes. Finding a style that works for you and sticking with it is never a bad idea.

I always love seeing what Cat Lincoln, one of the founders of Clever Girls Collective, will turn up wearing. She has a very retro sense of style that's always fun and classy. Here, she's wearing the mid-length sundress we discussed last week. I LOVE this look. Also? Note the flip flops. Believe it or not, that's what every woman in New York is wearing right now, no matter how dressy her attire. I felt very dowdy in my sandals.
This shot might be my favorite discovery for you all. We've all seen long, sleeveless tunic tops like the one worn by this event helper at the Getting Gorgeous party. With the simple addition of a skinny belt, she managed to turn what would have been a shapeless top into a cute, empire-waist look. The shorts peeking out beneath keep things appropriately modest. I only wish I had seen this idea in June- I would have been wearing it all summer long!
I snapped this shot of a girl walking in New York simply because she managed to turn what would have been a very ordinary sundress into something special simply by adding a pretty green sash. I've got to try this look myself!
Rookie Moms blogger and author Heather Flett is another mom who always looks amazing each time I see her. This dress is to die for, and the boots keep things funky.
Finally, I couldn't write a BlogHer style post without including my fashion muse (and hostess in NYC), Alpha Mom Isabel Kallman. I loved her chambray shirtdress- and it would be easy to find your own version at the local mall. Isabel made the look her own with a pair of gold sandals and a cork belt. At night, she dressed up the shirtdress with a red skinny belt and blue and red Louboutins. To. Die. For.
More posts to come, ladies! You won't believe who I met while I was there!

Hey--you're not dowdy in your sandals--you're edgy. If everyone is wearing flip-flops, they're on the way out. You're at the crest of the new fashion wave.
LOVE Ree Drummund. In anything and everything.
She's just as great in person, Mandy, and really authentic. :)
That's good to know, Lindsay! You never know with blogging "celebrities." I like to think she's as awesome as she seems on her blog and in her cookbook.
thanks!
