From clothing store owners to designers, the Kardashian sisters are making the leap. In 2011 they will launch their own line of clothing and accessories in cooperation with Australian designer Bruno Schiavi's Jupi Corp.
"We wanted everything to be no-fuss, buy it and wear it," Khloe Kardashian told WWD. "These are pieces that you could wear the next season or forever."
If forever involves nightclubs and the Jersey Shore perhaps?
I like the Kardashians a lot, but their style is never one to which I've been particularly drawn. I usually find it too tight, too short, too ... much. And their foray into design for Bebe didn't do much to change my opinion or get me too excited about this new line.
When it comes to celebrity sisters designing, I'm much more drawn the looks provided by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in their Elizabeth and James line. But I will be curious to see what the Kardashians produce.
I'm even more intrigued by the home accessories the Kardashian girls are planning to include in their line as well. From what I've seen of their homes, they have a nice, clean and modern look, which I like. I could see them creating some really fun bed linens and such.
The fact that they're also planning to expand into children's clothing later in 2011 scares me a little bit though as my head fills with thoughts of mini Lycra skirts and one-shoulder halters for toddlers.
What do you think of the Kardashians venturing into design? Do you like their style?
