I was a fan of most of Ali's fashion choices during this season of The Bachelorette, but the most important dress of all -- the engagement dress -- just didn't do it for me.
The champagne-colored, empire-waisted gown was a custom-designed Alberto Makali gown, based off the design below.
The straps and diamonds were removed, as well as some original beading around the bustline. Cary Fetman, the stylist for the show, said, “She wanted to be the cute Girl Next Door. She imagined how she would want to look on the day she was getting engaged. She didn’t want something too tight or too sexy.”
It wasn't very flattering for her figure, and that color is more suited for pale skin, not her tanned skin that she acquired during her worldly jaunts. But hey, if she loved it, that's all that matters.
What did you think of Ali's dress?
