In the heat of July and August, you might be tempted to limit your summer wardrobe to a few simple summer dresses.

But don't get sucked into boring. There are lots of easy and summery must-haves that can spruce up your warm weather style a bit.

Here are five summer style trends we think you must have this season!

1. A washable sundress

I bought this Converse One Star Claire Floral Dress ($29.99) at Target and it's been my go-to dress for hot summer days. Just toss it on and at the end of the hot, sweaty day, toss it in the wash. But in between, look super-cute! (Btw, I wear mine with high-heel wedges, not Converse.)

2. A textured T-shirt:

Whether it's ruffles or ribbons like the below Ribbon T ($29.50) from Gap, the textured T-shirt is everywhere this season. And the best part about these T-shirts is you can dress them up with a skirt and heels or dress them down with jeans or shorts. They're great for layering under a short-sleeved cardigan too.

3. Dye-dipped fashions:

You'll see lovely dye-dipped fashions and accessories of all types this summer from T-shirts and scarves to dresses like this adorable Sacrebleu Dress ($63.99) from ModCloth. With red sandals, this is the perfect 4th of July outfit.

4. Gigantic sunglasses

Nothing like a pair of humongous and oh-so-chic sunglasses to make you feel like a star all summer long. Love these violet Castries Sunglasses ($24.99) from Anthropologie.

5. A simple clutch

Summer is about packing light, and truthfully, when you go out sans kids, do you really need to carry more than your phone, keys, debit/credit card, ID, and a lipstick? Not this summer. Take a load off and carry a sweet and small clutch like this Kimichi Blue Crochet Clutch ($38) from Urban Outfitters.
