This fall, YSL is launching a couture manicure collection called Rock & Baroque. The polishes come in duos with specialty tipped brushes to encourage using them both to create an edgy French manicure design. Ooo, I foresee a new mani trend coming!
There are four sets in the collection: Rive Gauche (orange and fuchsia), Belle de Jour (turquoise and purple), Belle de Nuit (plum and gold), and Y-Cone (pink and white).
I can't possibly pick just one, but if I absolutely had to ... I think I'd go with the Belle de Jour. The turquoise and purple pairing would be like wearing happiness on my fingertips.
But honestly, as pretty as the YSL colors are, why wait until August? I can do this flashy design now using my Essie polishes (and for probably a lot cheaper).
Do you like this French manicure style? Which duo is your favorite?

This is really cute way to do a french manicure because you always see the french with the white tips but for I don't do the french at all I just go with all one color.
I love a classic French manicure - my favorite manicure, hands-down. But the colored ones that you're showing - hasn't this idea been around a while? I feel like I've been turned off by tacky tips for years already, even went to a wedding last year where the bride's and maid's mani/pedis were the wedding colors of cranberry and beige. I'm generally very accepting of edgier style/beauty and pushing the limits, but I really just find this trend unattractive and odd. A French manicure is meant to look clean and natural.
LOVE. :)
