Waterproof mascara is a must in any gal's makeup bag. I come from the Tammy Faye school of thought where the bigger the lashes, the better. Unfortunately, removing makeup can be harder than plugging the BP oil pipe.
Instead of buying chem-filled conventional makeup remover, whip some up in your own home with ingredients lying around.
Eye Makeup Remover from TipNut
- 1/8 cup grapeseed oil
- 1 tablespoon castor oil
Or try these materials ...
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
Toss all ingredients in a bottle or small jar and shake or mix well.
Shake before each use and apply with a tissue, cotton pad, or ball.
Do you use makeup remover? Would you try this recipe?

I can't wear eye makeup because of my contacts, but I used to use plain old moisturizer. Worked like a charm.
I use Ponds cold cream and it works great
This will be great for those ladies who keep castor, grapeseed, and jojoba oil on hand; the rest of us should have some decade old vaseline at the very least, stowed away in some dark neglected place.
I don't use waterproof mascara because I am a soap and water kind of gal.
I have tried the oil few times. Not good feeling when the makeup remover gets into eye... I stopped using it although this kind of makeup remover is natural and healthy for skin and lashes. May be not for everyday use...
No cuz I don't wear much make up if any...I would used these recipes tho...very natural!!!
I use bag balm then follow with washing my entire face using the hottest water I can stand.
