By now, you all know that conventional beauty products have a bevy of harmful chemicals ... that includes shampoo and conditioner.

Try making your own DIY shampoo and conditioner with items in your pantry.

It won't suds up hair like you're used to, but it left my scalp and hair super-clean without stripping it dry.

All you need is water, baking soda, and apple cider vinegar. Here's how ...

DIY Shampoo from Grist

  • Baking soda
  • Water
  • Reusable bottle

Start by combining 1 tablespoon baking soda to every 1 cup water. Use this ratio until your bottle is filled up.

Apply to your hair thoroughly (remember, don't expect all those bubbles) and rinse.

Shake the bottle every time you use it.

Would you try DIY shampoo and conditioner?
