Didn't SSGI reader Abi look pretty on Easter Sunday?


Here's what she wore: a Charlotte Russe belted eyelet dress and sweater, a green bead necklace from Macy's and white braided sandals from Shi by Journeys.

 

Shops that market to teenagers, like Charlotte Russe, Forever 21,Delia's and Tilly's are fantastic dirty little secrets, if you haven't shopped them already. I work inexpensive pieces from these stores (as well as the Juniors section at department stores) into my wardrobe whenever I can. I'm sure Abi paid a fraction of what she would have if she'd shopped at a department store in the women's section- and she looks fantastic!

 

And here's what I wore a couple of nights ago, on a casual date night to a taproom.

 

I really wanted to work in the utilitarian look without spending a lot of money. I also had to be realistic- It's too hot here even in spring for a heavy cloth jacket- Yesterday, it was 85 degrees! I finally settled on this jacket from Gap. It doesn't look it, but it's actually a lightweight knit. It's supremely comfortable, it never wrinkles, and it'll work as a casual jacket for years to come. I love it and highly recommend it.

I saw these shoes in Lucky Magazine and HAD to have them. They're just $45 on Piperlime and they are fantastic- and surprisingly comfortable. One note- If you order them, go down an entire shoe size from what you normally wear. They run really big.

And finally, I thought I'd throw this pic in, since we talked so much about the Gaultier for Target line. This top is the only piece from the collection that I ended up buying- and the result is my nod to the "nautical" look. The jeans are from Gap- I had a coupon for a free pair, which I picked up a few nights ago, and I love them! They are skinny jeans and I just rolled up the cuffs to "crop" them. I'd recommend that you buy only regular length pants for spring/summer and roll up the cuffs for the look- That way, you'll be able to wear them at full-length down the road when cropped pants are no longer in.
