Hot Trend: The Shirtdress

Vanessa Hudgens in a shirtdress only a skinny girl could get away with.

I've never liked the classic shirtdress- It always seemed to come in awkward, stiff fabric and it never fit my frame quite right. However, shirtdresses are all the rage this season and I'm happy to find that they've been reinvented in all kinds of fabrics and styles that will flatter nearly any figure.

What I love about most about this season's shirtdresses is that they're relatively inexpensive, they work in just about any social situation imaginable, and they never really go out of style.

Lucky Magazine has a spread in this month's issue about the shirtdress, along with a few tips on how to wear one.

  • The hem should hit at the knee or higher.
  • Wear it with substantial (not delicate heels).
  • Keep accessories simple. Limit yourself to one statement piece, whether it's a necklace or sunglasses.
