Hot Trend: Graphic Prints

One of my least favorite hot trends for Spring is the graphic print, which technology has made possible only in the last few years. Think of graphic prints as color copies on fabric instead of paper.

It's definitely a hot look now- but one that I think will be made fun of next decade, much like we now make fun of Laura Ashley dresses.

However, since it's all the rage, I do feel the need to address it...

Ali Larter wore this digital print dress recently. Meh.

Jennifer Lopez looks comfortable in this graphic print dress from Diane Von Furstenberg.

Personally, I like the graphic print trend best when it's limited to black and white, so as you'll see, most of my favorites are of the black and white variety. That particular color combination is easiest for the average person to pull off.

That said, here are a few (a verrrry few- and I LOOKED, people!) of my graphic print favorites...

A realistic way to make this trend work is with a brightly-patterned handbag. This Coach graphic print bag is $198.

I'll admit I do love this graphic print skirt. It's just $49 at Spiegel.

Another way to make this look your own without going overboard is with a brightly colored scarf. This $98 scarf from Anthropologie is a pretty option.

I do like this BCBGMAXAZRIA dress, $128 from Bloomingdales. I think I could make this dress work. Could you?

This graphic print hobo bag has a very stylish look and seems like it would cost much more than the $49.50 it's selling for at Express...

This digital print ocean wave on silk shantung is gorgeous and would look stylishly retro long after the graphic print trend has come and gone. It's on sale for $196 at Anne Klein.

So there you have it. Graphic prints I can stand. What do you think of the look?
