Spring Colors: Turquoise

Expect to see plenty of turquoise this spring and summer- It's one of the hot colors of the season- Nordstrom featured its turquoise bags in its latest catalog- and there are lots of ways to work it into your wardrobe, even if you've only got a sawbuck to spare! Here are some ideas that won't put you in the poorhouse...

First off, get a pair of these before they're gone. These flats are perfect for spring and they're just $12.99 at Target!

This airy $128 tunic is technically a bikini cover-up, but I'd totally wear it with a white camisole and white pants or shorts. It's awesome.

I love turquoise beads and these are a fabulous price- just $17.42 from Kohl's. Wear these to dress up your neutrals. They would also look pretty with a pink or coral dress or sweater set.

Have you checked out Lands End's new Canvas line? It has a very J. Crew feel. This cardigan is from that collection and is $39.50.

These $90.75 Betsey Johnson sandals are showstoppers and would look great with a simple white, pale yellow, or pink dress.

This turquoise knit dress is an affordable way to rock the look at $53.99, and would flatter many types of figures. Wear it alone or with a neutral or pale yellow cardi.

This gorgeous Amarita Singh necklace is on sale for just $100- a great price for this designer's jewelry.

Turn a simple spring dress into a hot look with this $19 bolero from Dillards.

This bag is great for the money- just $57.27 and is also available in lime green and coral.

I had to include this Trina Turk dress, on sale for $98. I love Trina Turk, but the dresses are usually way over my budget. This one, though, I might be able to swing...

I'm completely in love with these sandals. They're $68 from Urban Minx.

For a casual, beachy look, I'm loving this $38 double-layer dress from Victoria's Secret. Pretty it up with a cardigan or wear it alone on a hot summer day. It comes in the colors pictured, as well as a turquoise outer dress with lake blue peeping out underneath.

This pretty straw bag screams spring and would look fantastic with a day dress or with jeans. It's $60 from Endless and also comes in fuschia, natural and lime green.

This should be enough to get you started. Don't be afraid to pair it with unexpected colors- I can see a turquoise cardigan with a pale yellow sundress, for example, or a turquoise bag or shoes brightening up a khaki shirtdress. And never count out black...

Here, Olivia Palermo gives a simple turquoise dress an edge with a black belt and black opaque tights.

And remember what Alicia Ybarbo did at Blissdom last weekend?

I would never have thought to pair this kind of sweater with this dress (not to mention the flower), but the end result is fantastic! So play around with the color and if it looks good to your eye, go for it!
