The New Spring Dresses

Nordstrom always has great style advice on its site and in its newsletters. The e-mail I received from them this morning got me all excited about spring.

You see, I am a dress person. My closet is filled with them- dressy dresses, day dresses, and play dresses. They are the easiest and quickest way to get dressed and as a mom, that really matters.

Fortunately for me, this upcoming season is absolutely filled with feminine, frilly dresses in pretty florals and pastels. They are just now starting to hit stores and Nordstrom had great ideas on how to make your spring dresses work by day or night.

By day, this yellow dress is paired with a large tote, and contrasting flats and cardigan (and this cardigan is nicely priced at $39 & comes in a bunch of colors, FYI).

By night, it's worn alone and accessorized with a dressier clutch and pretty heeled sandals.

So don't be afraid to pair a bright spring dress with a contrasting cardigan- I'm especially loving the ones in yellow and teal- and don't be afraid of contrasting flats. I know we all try to match up our bags, shoes and cardigans to be safe, but just throw that out the window this spring!

With all this in mind, I had to head over and look at Nordstrom's new batch of day dresses... I'm in love. Here are a few of my favorites- Some of them are a bit pricy, but I still like to look, just to get ideas on the kinds of pieces I want if nothing else.

Gorgeous! $148, but still! Gorgeous!

I know, I know. At $268, this stunning Trina Turk dress is way too expensive for most of us, but a girl can dream, right?

This Eliza J dress is $138 and just screams Jackie O!

Now I just have to go rob a bank or something....
