If you're not much of a black/white and red girl or you're just looking for something new, never fear, ladies. Neutrals are another big trend for Spring. But you have to be careful with this look- Done wrong, it can totally wash you out or worse, leave you looking like a clown. Take a look...

When wearing neutrals, don't overdo it on the makeup. The results can be disastrous, Rachel McAdams.

New Moon's Ashley Greene does dressy neutrals right in this picture, from top to bottom. Her makeup is perfect for the look. Keep your lips a natural shade and let your eyes take center stage. I'd go with a very soft and subtle smoky eye in brown or gray.

My favorite way to do neutrals this Spring and look ultra-fashionable in the process is to combine them with black, like Julianne Moore, pictured here. The neck of her gown is a little funny, but overall, does she not look fabulous? Don't be afraid to wear a neutral tunic top or jacket with black leggings or pants.

See what I mean? Here, Zoe Saldana puts a neutral sweater dress and bag with black tights and boots.

You should have plenty of neutral options in your closet already- for example, get ready pull out all your khaki- but here are a few ways you can update your wardrobe to reflect the trend.

The trenchcoat is everywhere for Spring 2010. The added benefit of buying one now is that you can get it fairly cheaply since so many designers are offering them this season- and then you can wear it forever. This particular trenchcoat is by XOXO and is on sale at Macys right now for $48.30. The reviews for this trenchcoat are fantastic.

Or you could go for a more traditional trenchcoat from Tahari, on sale right now at Overstock.com for $81.99. The price changes from day to day, so keep checking back if you're on the fence.Don't delay too long, though; I have a feeling they will sell out fast.

This dress is super cute and has gotten lots of great reviews from customers. It's $138 at Anthropologie.

For dressier occasions, Spiegel is intriguing me yet again with this lovely little $79 dress.

How can you possibly resist this amazingly-priced sweater from Stella McCartney, on sale for just $29? (It was originally $245!). It's a perfect layering piece and a wardrobe staple, no matter what the season.

I can't do the waist-cinching thing, which admittedly is all the rage right now, but if it looks good on you, why not go with this pretty, pretty top? $78 at Anthropologie.

I do love this fluid top, which can be paired with black leggings and nude or black sandals- or plain old jeans if you're feeling casual. $20.40 from ASOS.

This pretty Lucas de Tertre cardigan would be flattering on many body types. It's on sale for $49, down from $105.

This trendy cardigan from Arden B is quite versatile and just $39.

Dress up your neutrals with this gorgeous, champagne colored demi-sec cardigan from Anthropologie. $128.

Loose fitting, flowy neutral pants were hot on the runway for Spring 2010 and so was khaki. Pull out your cargo pants for Spring and you'll be right in style. These stretch canvas pants are $59.50 at LOFT- roll them up or wear them long- It's up to you!

There's a fantastic sale right now on J. Crew's boyfriend chinos. They're on final sale at $19.99. Take an additional 20% off that price right now with the code EXTRA20. What a steal!

Khaki shorts are back in fashion, which is good news because you probably already have a pair in your closet and if you don't, they're available everywhere, from LOFT to Target. J. Jill has an interesting take with these classic and comfortable-looking silk shorts, on sale for $29.99.

I really like the length of these Emma Zane 3/4" shorts, on sale for $29, down from $105. If you're like me and hate shorts but want to keep cool in warm weather, this length is a nice option.

As for accessories, this classic satchel bag from Brooks Brothers is on sale right now for $139.20, down from $348. Brooks Brothers also has a mini version of the satchel on sale for $91.20. These are fantastic deals- It's very difficult to find a leather neutral bag right now for under $200.

Add a hint of neutral to your ensemble with this cool jersey scarf, $24 from Topshop.

This scarf is a bit pricey at $79 from Brooks Brothers, but soooo cool and versatile. Reversible black and white/khaki and white. You will be the ultimate stylista with this scarf.

Of course, there are shoes to consider as well. We'll cover Spring shoes, including the neutrals, later on this week.
