Hot Trend: Red, Baby!

With all the black and white in this Spring's style line-up, many designers are accenting the look with red. Red is one of my favorite colors and is a fashion staple, no matter what the season. Any red you buy for your wardrobe has major investment piece potential.

As always, first shop your closet and see what red you already have in stock- Probably plenty! If not, here are a few ideas...

Get a jump start on this look with a gorgeous red coat to end the winter season. This J. Crew coat is on sale now for $220, but with the code EXTRA20, you can get an additional 20% off the coat and free shipping, meaning that you pay just $176. I think this coat is AMAZING and well worth the price. I have a red J. Crew coat that's in its eighth year and still going strong!

A simple red dress like this one would look great under a black blazer or cardigan at work- and transitions right into a date night afterward. This dress, from Inc., is on sale for $69.99 at Macys, with 99 cent shipping!

A 3/4 length or short sleeved cardigan can do a lot to dress up boring black. I love this INC cardigan, on sale for $59.99 at Macys.

One lucky reader who wears a size 7 1/2 shoe (yes, I looked up the conversion for you!) can have these amazing Louboutin wedges, on sale at Dress Hollywood for just $99. They were purchased for The Nanny Diaries, were never worn, and retailed for $220. Squee! If you buy these, let me know so that I can know where to direct my envy. I absolutely love these shoes!

What's the next best thing to Louboutins? How about these Steve Madden platform sandals? Pair them with a little black dress this Spring and you will be unforgettable. In a good way. $79.95 at Steve Madden.

I keep coming back to look at this leather crossbody bag, on sale for just $26.99 at Coldwater Canyon.

For a dressier look, how about this Chanel-style quilted tote? On sale for $70 at Topshop.

I'll admit this Kate Spade bag is totally out of my league at $355. But I love, love, love it all the same.

A simple red scarf can instantly add pizazz. You can't beat the price on this one- $6.50 at Forever 21.

I'm also loving this polka dot number, $19 at Harmony Lane.

Happy shopping!
