How to Pluck Your Eyebrows

Taking the tweezers to your brow can have disastrous results if you make one wrong move. I've certainly over-plucked and drawn in my brow like an old lady on more than one occasion.

A few things I've learned from years of shaping:

  • You want to look natural but neat, so work with the eyebrow shape that god gave you. Don't go for the overly dramatic arch unless you're about to star in a Lady Gaga video.
  • If you must pluck the hair above your eyebrow, do it sparingly. Over-plucking above the brow is the quickest way to get an unflattering look.

To learn how to pluck inside the lines, follow the step-by-step instructions in this super-cute video with a fantastic soundtrack.

I've never had to apply ice to numb the eyebrow-plucking pain, but if you're sensitive, this is a great tip.

You can also use any makeup pencil to outline your brows; you don't have to buy a special white pencil. Just be sure it washes off easily!
