The Academy Awards is always a good place to scope out what the hot hairstyle is going to be for spring. This year, it was all about buns. And it's a great look if you have dinner plans for Easter. (It'll keep your locks away from the food coloring if you are dying Easter eggs, too!)
Whether they were loose, up, down, tight ... the ladies were lovin' the chignons. Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Ritchie, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel McAdams, and Maggie Gyllenhaal were just some of the stars that were rockin' this updo.
One of my favorites of the night was Mo'Nique.
She wore her hair in a high, tight bun, adorned with a gardenia. Very vintage Billie Holiday.
I'm pretty much jumping for joy because buns are my go-to when I'm running late in the morning. My hair is styled in a messy, low bun today, so it's nice to know that I'll at least be stylish with my hairstyle even when I'm slacking on the rest of my look.
The bun itself has tons of different personalities. Feeling wild? Put your hair up in a sexy, sleek bun. Elegant night out? Try a tousled bun. Flirty? Add in a headband. Dressing up for Easter? Wear a pastel barrette or a flower like Mo'Nique in honor of spring.
What's your favorite bun style?

I like a low bun. High buns hurt my head.
Whenever I see a bun I think of the King of Queens episode when Carrie wore a bun and she was told she looked like the old librarian.
