Meet first-time mom starburst1680. She's sharing the roller coaster ride of her first year of motherhood. Check back every week for all the emotion and exhaustion — right up until Kathryn Grace's first birthday.
Week 8:
A few days ago Kathryn rolled over for the first time. I put her on her stomach on her play gym. She had been laying there a few minutes and was starting to get a little fussy. I looked down at her, and she had pushed herself up onto her hands with her head up like I had seen her do a handful of times already. Then I looked away and looked back maybe 20 seconds later and she was on her back!
Kathryn had her two month checkup yesterday. Before we went to the doctor, I told my mom and husband that I was guessing she would be about 11 1/2 pounds. When I set her on the scale today it said 11lbs. 8 oz.! So she is still in the 75th percentile, which is great. I think it's a good place for her to be: not too big, not too small.
She also handled her shots like a champ. I think she screamed more last month when she only got one than today when she got two. Today I think the crying was more about the fact that she was irritated that we woke her up that the fact that they pinched.
How old was your baby when she first rolled over? Were you there to witness it?
(We're celebrating starburst168's first year with baby, so thanks for keeping your judgments about parenting choices to yourself!)

Our little man was about the same age- but we didn't see him do it the first few times because he was doing it at night in his crib. Now (at 11 weeks)he does it all the time, you can't take your eyes off him for second!
thank you for sharing your milestones with us, and she is beautiful!
My daughter rolled over at 12 months, with the help of therapy. She's four now and only about a year behind. = )
