Michelle Duggar told People magazine that she is taking "each hour as it comes" in regard to the health of her daughter Josie Brooklyn, born prematurely last week at 1 pound 6 ounces.
Duggar had the baby by emergency C-section at just 26 weeks -- three months early -- after doctors discovered the mom of 18 had preeclampsia and that the baby was in danger.
Duggar was being treated at the hospital for gallstones.
The baby is in stable condition at the ICU in Arkansas, according to a statement released by the family earlier today in which the family said the baby is doing "as well as can be expected" for a child her age.

Wow that is so hard to read for me. I just had my first baby this past March and she was born at 26 weeks and had heart surgery at 5 days old. I hope Josie is just as strong as my little Rylee.
I had preeclampsia with my first and know how hard it can be. Good luck to the Duggar family and their newest addition.
my heart and prayers go out to the Duggers!! May God watch over this precious gift...We are there with ya. I love the name
may God bless that baby and her family.
Poor baby. :(
I'm glad the baby continues to progress, but I must say I'm not surprised Mrs. Duggar had preelclampsia. Having so many kids, one right after another, can't be good for you. I hope they both continue their progress to good health.
I'm not sure if there's any evidence that multiple children increase your chances of preeclampsia. I had it with my first.
You may be right. I don't know, i've never dealt with it. I only meant that the health problem she is having now may be related to the number and frequency of her pregnancies. I certainly hope mrs. Duggar gets better and that her baby gets healthy.
May God bless Michelle and Jim Bob and their family. Keep fighting Josie!!!!
such beautiful children!! I will be praying for the Duggars...
