Baby of the Week: Troy

A weekly post to help us get to know some of our CafeMom cuties ...

Who: Troy Alin Lasick, 11 1/2 months old, son of Jagrus. I got my mucous plug on Christmas Eve and went in labor that night, but I was not yet dilating. I was contracting from Christmas Eve till December 30, when I was induced at 6 a.m. Troy was delivered at 2:49 p.m. at the hospital in Lagrange, Kentucky. His paternal grandparents live in Akron, Ohio, near Cleveland (a five hour drive) but they came to see him being born.

How long does he sleep at night?

His routine starts at 9 p.m. We do a bath, message, pajamas, playtime, stories, cereal, and then we nurse him to sleep. He falls asleep around 11 p.m. and then sleeps till between 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.. and then goes back to sleep till 7 a.m. Troy must be nursed to go to sleep.

What makes him smile?

Finger games such as peek-a-boo and open-shut-them. I take him to playgroups, church and music classes where we learn new games, stories and songs.

What is his latest milestone?

Pulling himself up and cruising, standing while he is holding on to anything he can reach. I am so proud of him. Also, he fed himself with a baby fork (more like a spork) and he hate mashed sweet potatoes.

What is his fussiest time of day?

Bedtime, at night. He still wants to co-sleep although he has a very nice Winnie the Pooh Crib. (Daddy does not want baby in the bed with us.)

What will he do for a career?

He'll be an entrepreneur, owning a marketing firm. Mommy and Daddy both worked in marketing and Troy is always going over the computer and pushing buttons. He will be a good typist. He loves pictures so he'll be good at advertising. And he loves facial expressions, so he has a knack for interpersonal skills.
