It's hard being a new mom (or even an experienced mom to a new baby) and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't, despite what all the experts say. But this is a safe place to share your secrets—we won't tell.
This Week's Secret:
About twice a day I pretend to have to go #2 really bad just to get some "me" time while hubby watches the baby. — WannabeMommy87
We all have secrets and opinions—so thanks to this brave mom for sharing her honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this conversation nonjudgmental!

What mom hasn't?! LOL Now I have to lock the door or they still get in.
I used to do that, but not when my husband was home. When he was home I would just tell him I was taking a nap or wanted to be left alone and he would keep the kids from bugging me. He still does that every day because I need a break from the noise and chaos (I'm very noise sensitive and get overstimulated easily).
I did used to go into the bathroom, lock the door and turn on all the faucets to drown out the noise when the kids were little and my husband was at work. It was the only way to center myself with all the noise. If I didn't do it I would literally snap and that was never a pretty sight. It was a tactic I learned when my son was a newborn and had colic. When I couldn't take the crying anymore I would set him on the bed and go into the bathroom for 10 minutes until I was calm again and then resume bouncing him on my knee (the only thing that helped).
I've done it, we used to live in a really small place, so the bathroom was the only escape, lol. Dh once caught me laying on the floor on a towel reading a book. When I've had a bad day I take an extra long shower and cry myself out in there and then have to hide in there for a few to let my eyes clear up.
Haha. This isn't such a confession.
I totally do this when I really need a minute to myself. "Ugh, my stomach hurts. Take the baby and I'll be right back." Lol.
I tell my boyfriend that the boys need some bonding time. Hes always all for it! So while that bonding happens I enjoy a long, hot, relaxing shower to help me un-tense from dirty diapers, crying, and hardly any sleep! And I always return the favor to my boyfriend!
I will take a "hot bath" at least that's the line I use with hubby. I think after 5yrs (our oldest is 5) he has figured out that a hot bath means I'll be indispose for at least an hour LOL I sometimes fall asleep and get a quick nap while in my hot bath LOL One time while hubby was home, I even took to sitting out in my truck in the driveway just to talk to my sister on my cell phone WITHOUT being interrupted....oh the things we do HA
did this it didn't work they still "found" me and Grandson does today although he doesn't come in. he just stands at the door and talks to me My daughter learned her numbers and alphabet by comming in when I would soak in the bubbles , she would lather up my back and write her numbers and letters that way I would guess what she wrote, she never saw anything mind you my back was always towards her she was 4 and 5 at the time. this was 29 years ago I'm afraid of what the " experts" woud say now. We also had conversations when she was in 4th grade that way , she would come in while I had my bubble bath and we would have our "talks" it was nice to be able to talk to her without anyone else taround. we had a lot of heartfelt talks that way. We are still that close now but do our talks in the car and over lunch~!
