It's hard being a new mom (or even an experienced mom to a new baby) and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't, despite what all the experts say. But this is a safe place to share your secrets—we won't tell.
This Week's Secret:
I hate breastfeeding. I've chosen to breastfeed because I feel it's best for my baby, but I hate doing it. My baby has a hard time latching, gets easily distracted, is fidgety, and rarely stays awake but even when it's not a battle, I still don't like it. — anonymous

I clicked other because I choose to tandem nurse - I have nursed my 3-year old all the way through my pregnancy. We chose this path because neither one of us was ready for this aspect of our relationship to end when I got pregnant. But the latch on can be REALLY painful. It usually goes away in less than a minute, so I just grit my teeth and remember that I love nursing. But there is that first minute on each side. Ouch. I love nursing and I wouldn't keep doing it if I didn't...but Ouch.
Hey, it's cheaper than buying formula and a lot less to clean up (even if you're pumping).
I'm due in a few months and I know that breast milk is the best for the baby but I am concerned about breast feeding. From what I've read, it hurts and I know that it takes some getting used to but there are babies that have a hard time latching on. Would the baby get the same nutrient if I was to pump the milk and bottle feed the baby? I also came across this website that helps train the baby to hold its own bottle. Have anyone used anything like this and if so, what do you think of it?

justjiving2009- its hard! it sucks but u do it because its the best thing for YOU and for your baby. the baby is more efficient than the pump, and a baby is meant to beheld during feedings not hold their own bottle.......
op, i hate it too!! my son is two and still nurses at least ten times a day, i am struggling to gain weight and i never got those "feel good" hormones but i continue to do it because its the best thing for my son and myself.
I tried to BF both of my girls, even though i hated it. But the oldest one never would latch, despite many visits to the lactiction lady. It got to the point where she was losing weight and i switched her to formula. She's not tramatised or anything. I did a little better with my second, but then my milk went all funny and REALLY upset her tummy. So again with the formula. So, formula doesn't corrupt them or anything, lol. Personally i think it's whatever works best for you and your little one. And it's no one else's business, because it isn't their kid.
