Meet first-time mom starburst1680. She's sharing the roller coaster ride of her first year of motherhood. Check back every week for all the emotion and exhaustion — right up until Kathryn Grace's first birthday.
Week 9:
Kathryn is enjoying bathtime more and more. Last time we tried a few things, like turning up the heat right before the bath, to help her not be so cold when we took her out. This seemed to help as she definitely cried less than the first few baths. Right now we are only bathing her once or twice a week. As she gets older and the weather gets warmer we will bathe her more frequently.
Challenges & Concerns:
Poop! Kathryn went from Sunday to Wednesday with no poopy diapers. This is unusual for her. She was having several a day but had recently dropped to about one per day. Luckily her doctors appointment was Tuesday so we were able to ask about it then and didn't have to call to make sure this was okay. She finally had one on Wednesday and it was a big one! It was nice and soft still though so there is nothing to worry about. I never thought I'd be so excited over something so gross! Now I understand why they say all new moms talk about is poop.
Did you ever have a "poop worry" with your baby?
(We're celebrating starburst168's first year with baby, so thanks for keeping your judgments about parenting choices to yourself!)

We went through the no poop thing about the same time, he didn't go for four days and on the fifth we actually caved and gave our little man a bit of prune juice mixed with a generous amount of water and he went TWICE within an hour of it whew, and uhh...peeyeewww....lol. The doc said the prune juice had nothing to do with it, but this isn't the first time I've felt a doc was a bit full of it himself, lol..I still say it worked.
oh and I only bathe our baby about twice a week, with wipe downs at bed time.
we had trouble with my youngest not pooping too
