The moms in Stay at Home Moms are talking about their scariest moments as parents, things that made them stronger as a family and ever grateful for their children. I can't believe some of the things CafeMoms have gone through ...
-- When I was pregnant I was sitting in standstill traffic and someone came flying off of an exit ramp and hit me going 60 mph. I was in the hospital for a few days but luckily they didn't have to take her early.
-- After I had my son he wasn't breathing and it took them about two minutes to get him to start. It was complete TORTURE!!
-- When my son was three weeks old, he started throwing up every time he ate. We took him to the ER and he needed to have surgery to enlarge the opening from the stomach.
-- Our door was swollen from the humidity and my 14 month old's grammy didn't shut it all the way. He ended up getting out the front door and falling down a flight of stairs. After a trip to the ER, he walked away with scratches and bruises.
-- My youngest son was born with placenta previa and the doctor didn't realize it until they induced my labor and I was pushing. He was blue when they pulled him out. He was breathing, barely. Faint heartbeat. He was under the incubator lights for 24 hours to keep him warm ... his pulse and bp bottomed out when he was touched and swaddled. He is now almost 3 years old and you'd never guess I'd had any problems delivering him.
What harrowing experiences have you survived as a parent that "made you stronger"?
