New Mom Secrets: I Use Expired Baby Food

Cynthia Dermody

telling secretsIt's hard being a new -- and an experienced mom! -- and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't. This is a safe place to share your secrets (PM me).

This Week's Secret:

-- I use opened baby food jars in the fridge past that three to four day expiration period. -- anonymous

-- I gave my baby powdered formula that had been opened longer than a month. My baby is fine; it was only a couple of days over the limit. I figure those dates are just guidelines; it won't magically go bad after exactly 30 days. There were a good two to three bottles left, and at those prices, I certainly wasn't going to waste it. -- anonymous

Have you ever cheated the expiration date on formula or food by just a little?
