I don't sew, but this Polka Dot Baby Quilt, found via Craft, sure makes me wish I could.
I'm always in awe when people bring handmade quilts as baby gifts. I oooh and ahhh and wonder how on Earth they do it.
Well, Jennifer Murphy of and other silly things shows us just how she made this baby quilt by writing and sharing a how-to quilt tutorial. Oooh, ahhh...

oooh that's pretty.
I made my older 2 quilts when they were babies. Mine were just basic squares (this looks like applique which is pretty easy to do).
I taught myself to quilt after my mom died. She had made me and my cousin (whose son was born a week before my oldest child) a quilt but died before she finished the one for my other cousin (whose son was born a couple months later). So I got the sewing machine out, read how to use the dang thing and put together a quilt for the new baby and gave it to the family from my mom.
I haven't quilted in awhile because all my fabric is in storage but my husband's cousin has requested a quilt for her 2yo because she fights her older sisters for the ones I made them years ago.
