Photo from dooce
Love this serene Julia Rothman wallpaper that Heather Armstrong of dooce picked out for her new nursery. It's so relaxing.
Oh, I can barely remember babyhood anymore now that my youngest son is a full-fledged toddler. Now I look back and think on those times with such sweetness.
Something happens when a baby hits about 1.5 years, or as in my house currently, 2.5 years, and their peaceful baby room falls apart. No longer whimsical and sweet—now it is strewn with toys and twisted bed sheets and papers rolled up into "swords" and lots of other small messes.
I'm going to come back to this photo often for a little peace. Stare at these soft birds and try to remember the baby calm before the storm that is toddlerhood. Oh, who am I kidding? The last calm we experienced around here was over six years ago before my first son was born...
Baby's rooms are so relaxing...until you put a real live baby in them. :)
