Salma Hayek had a big fancy wedding this weekend in Venice, Italy. Her groom, in case you don't know, was French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault. The couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony in February in Paris, but that was still a while after their daughter Valentina Paloma, now 19 months, was born.
According to People, about 150 people attended the wedding including lots of Salma's celebrity friends like Penelope Cruz, Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, and Olivier Martinez. Valentina served as flower girl. It sounds like a wonderful day.
And celebrities aren't the only people having kids without getting hitched. A record number of babies were born in the United States in 2007—40 percent of them to unwed moms. The U.S. isn't the only country where the number of kids born outside of marriage is rising. According to Brett McWhorter Sember, author of Unmarried with Children, one in three babies in Europe are born to unmarried parents. Fewer and fewer couples are choosing to get married before (and after) they have kids.
Did you have kids before you got married? Or did you get married before you had kids? Are you living together or are you single?
