This Week's Secret:

"Before I got pregnant my husband and I used to hang out at our local bar all the time. When our son was born everyone there wanted to meet him so we brought him to the bar with us when he was just a month old." —anonymous

We took my DD into a bar/grill when she was 6 mo. and sat in the bar area because the guys wanted to watch the game. Smoking isn't allowed in bars that serve food, otherwise we wouldn't have.

Ok its different if its a bar and resturant... but were talking about just bars that are for people ages 21 and over! Get that through your heads people there is a difference! If your friends insist that you go to a bar why not suggest Chilis or something!

Children have no business being in a bar. Period. I live in a small town and have a bar I go to (where I know everyone) but neither of my children have (or ever will) step a foot in that bar until they are 21. My friends ask about my kids and I bring out the phone and show pics. If they wanna see my kids they know where I live. It's too smokey, you have crazy drunk ppl everywhere...and what are you gonna do if a fight breaks out?!? It's not gonna matter that there's a child there. I think it's very iresponsible.

It wasn't weird to take my baby to a bar, I had my baby shower in that same bar!

The last thing I want when I go to a bar is a crying baby...as a matter of fact...the last thing I need is a crying baby anywhere I go for leisure at night. The movies, the bar, the restaurant...if you need to go out get a darn babysitter. If you can't afford one you can't affford to go out either.

Sure why not as long as your not getting blitzed and it doesn't harm the babys well-being. Show away. And congrats.

Having worked in bars and restaurants my whole life I don't see a problem with this at all.

If the place is a local hangout where everyone knows everyone then what's the harm in taking your little one there to met your friends?

As soon as my son is old enough where I feel comfortable taking him out my fiance and I will be stopping by a few bars to visit friends and introduce him.

That being said these are non-smoking places and we won't be drinking of course, but there's nothing wrong in stopping by!
