It's hard being a new mom (or even an experienced mom to a new baby) and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't, despite what all the experts say. But this is a safe place to share your secrets—we won't tell.
This Week's Secret:
"Before I got pregnant my husband and I used to hang out at our local bar all the time. When our son was born everyone there wanted to meet him so we brought him to the bar with us when he was just a month old." —anonymous
We all have secrets and opinions—so thanks to this brave mom for sharing her honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this conversation nonjudgmental!

I did the same thing but the bar I brought him 2 served lunches and didnt start to serve alcohol until 3. So dont feel bad!!
We are members of a local rod & gun club with a bar. It is a family place so babies and kids of all ages are allowed. Our girls have been there numerous times, it is a part of our family!
It's not something I would do personally, but I understand the need to show off the baby. If neither parent is drinking I'd feel better about it.. but I guess to each his own. But be prepared to hear some nasty comments questioning your parenting skills.
We brought our first son into a bar to show him off, lol. It was a VERY small town and that's where all my in-law's friends were, but we only stayed in for a few minutes and only if it wasn't all smoky yet.
You just have to do what you think is right for your children. Don't worry about what people think about you.
some people's lives revolve around bars. they can offer more than alcohol and physical things like a sense of family.
i don't think that i would of brought my baby to the bar. or maybe you could of had them come out side instead of going in side. was the inside of the bar smoke free or was it still a smoking place that is my only question.
Now that smoking is outlawed in bars in my state, I have no issue taking a baby into one. Most bars have good food, I really don't see any issue untill they are old enough to either disrupt other patrons or get teribly board.
I went with my parents-in-laws to meet most of the other in-laws(cousins, uncles, aunts) that I had never met before cause they are scattered all over the planet... and I had my 2 little boys with me. It wasn't smokey cause they all knew the little ones were there and besides we were the whole bar with 36 of us crammed in there! Who cares what other people think!?!
