It's hard being a new mom (or even an experienced mom to a new
baby) and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't, despite what all
the experts say. But this is a safe place to share your secrets—we
won't tell.
This Week's Secret:
"I took my son to the doctor for his 2-week checkup and when the receptionist asked me his name, I froze. I wanted to cry because I couldn't remember. Total "mommy brain!" —anonymous
We all have secrets and opinions—so thanks to this brave mom for sharing her honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this conversation nonjudgmental!

When my Keeley was about 4 months old, I took a video and throughout the entire thing, I'm calling her "Cassie." I don't know why. We have a cat named Cassie, but we also have cats named Kalee, Josey, Misti, Mazie, and Jayme. It makes no sense. It's not just a couple times either...it's like a 10 minute video and I said it a good 10 times! Never did it before and haven't done it since...
I had a rough time with birthdays at first, and now its the times they were born, they are so close I forget who was born at what time. Up unitil I showed my husband the birth certificate, he thought our youngest was born on March 3, when she was born March 2. I told him that he should believe me, I had to push it out, LOL
My babies were 10 weeks early and in NICU. About 2 days after they were born one of the nurses asked me what my DD's name was and I replied, "Madeline" ....................It's 'Madison'. lol. I was so distraught over their early birth and seeing them that way that I was losing my mind!
Last week I had trouble remembering Sarah's middle name! I was getting very upset trying to figure out why it wasn't Elizabeth!
I still stumble over his birthday. Connor's is 6-15 and DH's is 7-16, AND our anniversary is 6-16. It totally messes me up.
LOL, this is funny. I don't think I could forget his name, but I have to put a LOT of thought into when his birthday is!
lol.....sometimes when people ask me when my kids were born i actually have to think about it! i feel like an idiot!
I sometimes call my son by the other sons name! lol...My mom did it all the time too..Of course as we got older we were more offended by it! lol
I keep forgetting my boys birthday! People hate on me bc of it all the time! My grams bday is the day after and I am always confusing it! BAD HUH?
My little sister had her first child, a little boy, called Finnias Roman nearly eight months ago. When he was about a week old I received a call from a very frantic Sylvie (my sister) saying "Zee!!! Please help me!!!! I've forgotten the baby's name!!!!!". I had to feel sorry for her even while I was laughing, because she felt absolutely terrible for having forgotten. I think it was mostly due to the fact that a) she'd hardly slept in a week and b) her and her husband had had a hard time chosing a name, and for the first two days he was William, then Sylvie decided she didn't like it so they changed it to Oliver, then her husband decided HE didn't like it so they changed it to Finnias. Poor Sylvie! It must have been awful for her, and I don't make a habit of laughing at other people's misfortunes, but it was just so funny, the sheer high pitch of her voice on the phone!!!
